When I get up in the morning, I like to make my normal rounds on the internet....Facebook, Hotmail, Pinterest, Blogger. Then, depending on the day (or time of year), I have other sites I need to visit. If Kevin's brother played the night before then I have to check his score. If it is a Sunday, then I have to check out Target's ad. If it's football season, then I have to find out who won the night before and then do my fantasy football lineup.
One of the strange things I like to do when I'm bored is go shopping at my favorite stores. I go to the Express or GAP site and see what I like. I fill up my cart, but never buy anything. It is especially fun to do after the holidays when all the sales are going on.
Sometimes, I get Kevin in on my craziness. Since Kevin has been over here for over 5 months now, he is really starting to crave American food and restaurants. I'm still content with pizza and pasta, but I've only been here for 3 months. Obviously, I could go for some Chipotle, but that is a given regardless of where I am living. We like to go to our favorite restaurants' websites and look at the menu. Then we decide what we would get if we were there right now.

Hello and Goodbye!
Goodbye: Chipotle, Target, the English language, movie theatres, ranch dressing, Ginger Ale, clearly posted street signs, automatic cars, washer/dryer, US system of measurement
Hello: Pizza, chocolate croissants, towel warmer, Slingbox, Ringo Ice Cream Sandwiches, fizzy water, King-sized bed, cappuccinos, hot pepper oil
But, by far, one of the worst thing I had to say goodbye to was reliable internet. I got here on Tuesday morning and by Wednesday at 6:00pm it was out for about 18 hours. It did come back, but it comes and goes as it pleases.
Currently, my computer and iPad won't connect to the internet. We went to the hotel today to talk to them about it, but with the language barrier and what I think is a lack of understanding of computers on their part, nothing got accomplished. We have a check-in number and four passwords for the internet, but Kevin is only using two passwords so two should be available. But for some reason I still cannot connect. I asked if it would be possible to just reset the passwords so we could both get on, but they gave me the same ones we already have. It looks like there will be another trip over to the hotel tomorrow to try get things figured out, but this time I'm taking the iPad over to show them that it's not working.

Home
In less than 12 hours we will be heading to the airport. It is hard to believe that the time has come for us to go home. We are both super-excited to see our friends, families, and dogs. But there are a few other things we cannot wait to get home for.
1. Food- We already know that our first stop in Pittsburgh will be to Chipolte. I can already taste the pork tacos. I'm going to eat all three of them and a whole bag of chips and guacamole...and I'm not going to feel bad about it at all. Kevin and I have been talking about "American food" for months now. He can't wait for ribs, chicken wings, steak, and sandwich shops. I just want cottage cheese (the kind here is disgusting), pulled pork, hot dogs, and hummus. I'm giving myself until June 1 to indulge in all my favorites and then I'll clean up my act for the summer. I do have a bridesmaid's dress I have to fit into.
2. Internet- I cannot wait to have the internet at all times, uninterrupted. Our internet connection in Vipiteno was the only thing that almost made me lose my shit this year.
3. Phone calls- For 6 months no one has called my cell phone except for Kevin and Debbie. And Debbie's been gone for a month now so my phone's probably only rang twice in that time. I cannot wait to get home so I can text and call people whenever I want. Be prepared friends, there are some long conversations in my future.
4. Clothes- I just want my clothes. Kevin says I'm crazy, but I'm serious. I hate wearing the same thing constantly. Rotating the same 20 things for the last 6 months has taken a toll on me. If I had it my way, I would just throw out everything I've worn this year and start fresh because that is how much I hate my clothes here.
5. TV- The fact that I will be able to turn on the TV and understand what people are saying excites me beyond belief. The only English channels we get in Vipiteno are BBC and CNN. And I can watch the music stations because most the songs are in English. Granted, we have the Slingbox, but when our internet is out, we can't watch it.

Domani
I'm writing this post from my makeshift office in the locker room of the Vipiteno Broncos. It smells of hockey gear and sweat and I'm pretty sure I'm going to smell like it when I get home. We are on Day 4 of no internet at the apartment and I might be losing my mind if we don't get it soon. We talked to the hotel about our problem and they informed us that it was out there too and that they called someone to come out and fix it. In the States, they would send someone to fix it within a day or two. But in Italy, everything is 'domani' (or tomorrow). I'm betting we won't have it until early next week (at the earliest), but I'm really hoping I am wrong.
At least in the States, you can go to the nearest Starbucks or Barnes & Noble and connect to their Wi-Fi. Or you can pass time by watching television. These are not options here in our little Italian town of 6,000 people. I've been passing time by working out and napping, but I would much rather be catching up on my episodes of Jersey Shore and New Girl.
I don't mean to sound dramatic, but the internet is my lifeline. It is my connection to America! It is my phone, my television, and my cookbook. Without it, I am lost. I sure hope it comes back soon!
