About Me

Welcome to my blog!

Whenever I'm asked to describe myself, I always have a problem doing it. Where do I begin? What should you know about me? How specific should I get?

Well for starters, I was born and raised in Springfield, IL, but for as long as I can remember, I never wanted to stay put in the town. I've always had a desire to travel the world and luckily for me, I picked a partner in life that has the same goal (and a job that requires we travel).

Besides traveling, I love reading, taking photos, shopping, and playing fantasy football. I think pit bull puppies are the cutest things in the world and I could eat pizza and potato chips for every meal. I would definitely say I'm a little OCD (self-diagnosed) and I hate silence, but that is probably because I can talk to anyone about anything.

I have a bachelors degree in special education and a masters in reading and literacy. I taught for 3 years in Springfield, IL before making the transition to hockey wife. It wasn't an easy decision to give up my job and follow Kevin from place to place, but I couldn't be happier.

We have been blessed with an amazing daughter, Alessia, who was born in Vipiteno, Italy in 2013 while Kevin coached there. She is the perfect addition to our family and is a little traveler herself.

The hockey lifestyle isn't the easiest. I've learned how to pack up our place in a few hours and how to live out of a bag for months. Together, Kevin and I have made it through injuries, surgeries, trades, and evictions. But without this crazy lifestyle, I would have never met the unbelievable people I've come across or seen the amazing places we've been lucky enough to live in or visit. I honestly can say, I LOVE this crazy, unpredictable lifestyle!
